IAUE Management Suspends SUG Week, Orders Immediate Return to Classes

By Ephraim Emmanuel

The management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, has officially announced the immediate suspension of all remaining activities scheduled for the ongoing Student Union Government (SUG) Week.

The directive was contained in an official statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Chinonye Abraham Ajie, confirming that the suspension takes effect immediately.

Following the sudden halt of the student festivities, the university management directed all students to return to their respective lecture halls on Thursday, August 13, 2026, for the continuation of normal academic activities.

While specific reasons for the abrupt suspension were not detailed in the official release, the management issued a stern warning to the student body regarding attendance.

The statement emphasized that any student who fails to attend scheduled lectures starting Thursday will be held fully responsible for the consequences of their actions.

University authorities are expected to monitor compliance as regular academic routines resume across the Rumuolumeni campus.
