The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the controversial establishment and operations of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has summoned the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to produce the DG Prince Adeyemi Matthew on Wednesday.
The summon was made on Monday during the questioning of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, as the high-profile inquiry enters its third week.
The committee’s hearing on Monday also suggests that it had identified about 29 suspected forged documents allegedly used to give the purported agencies legitimacy.
The alleged documents reportedly included approvals from the State House, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Ministry of Finance.
The panel, chaired by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi (representing Kanke/Kanam/Pankshin Federal Constituency of Plateau State), is probing how an entity described by the Federal Government as completely non-existent managed to secure physical office space inside the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja and draw over N1.32bn in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
