Alleges death threat

The police are set to arraign Adeyemi today before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a fresh charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.
Also, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has commenced investigations into the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council scandal.
ICPC spokesman, John Odey, confirmed on Monday that the Commission had taken up the case and was capable of handling it alone or with other agencies.The probe follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive last Tuesday, ordering the ICPC to investigate the fictitious PFIPC and the alleged N1.3bn inserted into the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
The President gave a 30-day deadline for the report.At the centre of the allegations is Adeniyi Adeyemi. He has welcomed the probe but called on President Tinubu to set up a separate, independent panel for transparency.
In an open letter dated July 13, Adeyemi said an ICPC-only investigation may not guarantee public confidence because the Commission answers to the same arm of government implicated in the allegations.
He also alleged threats to his life and questioned the circumstances surrounding the reported death of Dolapo Tanimola, described as a central intermediary in the matter.
Adeyemi proposed an independent panel with representatives from CSOs, NBA, media, EFCC, and international bodies. He said he will present evidence once the panel is constituted.
