The Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism has called on residents of the state and Nigerians nationwide to support and vote for Miss Soye Karibi-George as she competes for the Miss World 2026 crown.
The call was contained in an official statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Akiyata Anyanwu, following a press briefing at the weekend.
Speaking through the statement, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, described Miss Karibi-George as a worthy ambassador carrying the hopes and aspirations of the people onto the global stage.
“Miss Karibi-George is our idol, a strong bonding force for our youths, and an inspiration to the younger generation,” Ndigbara stated. “She possesses all the requisite credentials to win, but it is through our collective votes, prayers, and active support that she can bring the crown home.”
Ndigbara drew parallels to Nigeria’s historic global pageant victory, noting that the timing is right for another Rivers indigene to make international history.
“Twenty-five years ago, Agbani Darego won the coveted crown; now, it is time for Tamunosoye to repeat that feat,” he added, urging all Nigerians to rally behind her on the world stage.
