The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that the outcome of the 2027 general elections will be determined at the polling units rather than through administrative maneuvering.
Addressing ADC stakeholders at his residence in Port Harcourt upon his return to the Rivers State capital, the former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation expressed strong confidence in his party’s prospects, asserting that President Bola Tinubu will not secure re-election.
Amaechi offered a personal reflection during the gathering, stating that his late mother would rest peacefully knowing he fulfilled his goal of becoming the Vice President of Nigeria.
Critique of Current Administration
Sharply criticizing the incumbent administration, Amaechi described President Tinubu’s leadership as the most challenging in recent political history.
He also took aim at economic policies and recent public statements from the Presidency, specifically referencing remarks by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu regarding self-reliance and petty trading.
“If every Nigerian is advised to fry Akara for a living, the fundamental question remains: who will be left to buy it?” Amaechi questioned, arguing that macro-economic reform, rather than micro-level survival tactics, is required to uplift citizens.
Amaechi urged ADC supporters across Rivers State and the country to remain steadfast, organize at the grassroots level, and ensure active voter participation ahead of the 2027 polls.
