Renowned gospel minister and veteran music icon, Asu Ekiye, popularly known as “The Prince of the Niger Delta,” has formally announced the dissolution of his 28-year marriage to his wife, Kunemofa Asu.
In an official public statement released by the musician, Ekiye disclosed that the union officially ended a year ago. He explained that he deliberately delayed the public disclosure to allow time for reflection, personal clarity, and quiet acceptance following the transition.
Describing the development as a deeply personal journey of growth and experience, the singer expressed a profound sense of sobriety as he closed what he termed a significant chapter of his life.
“Some chapters, however significant and memorable, eventually come to an end,” Ekiye stated, adding that he chose to navigate the conclusion of the marriage with grace, gratitude, and dignity while looking forward to a new season.
