The Andoni Local Government Area chapter of the Accord Party has formally distanced itself from a purported endorsement of an external political candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
In an official public announcement signed by the LGA Chapter Chairman, Comrade Loveday Awajigbana Zaccheaus, the party disowned actions taken during a recent political meeting involving Mr. Godspower David, Mr. Unyejit Renner, and Hon. Ofiks Kagbang.
According to the party, David and Renner lacked any mandate to speak, act, or commit the party’s structures to any external political alliance.
The clarification follows public apologies from the Accord Party Ward Chairmen of Wards 1 and 9, who attended the gathering. The chairmen explained that they were invited without prior knowledge of the agenda and only realized upon arrival that discussions centered on supporting another political interest, during which money was reportedly handed over to the duo.
Both ward chairmen maintained that they neither authorized nor agreed to collapse the party’s ward structures into another political movement.
Reaffirming its position, the Accord Party leadership emphasized that the purported endorsement remains unauthorized and does not represent the official stance of the party noting that attendance by the two ward chairmen does not translate to a formal party endorsement.
Hon. (Dr.) Luke Mobene Eneriene remains the party’s recognized candidate for the Rivers State House of Assembly, Andoni Constituency, for the 2027 elections.
Accord Party remains fully intact and committed to contesting the 2027 general elections in Andoni LGA.
The party warned unauthorized individuals against using its name, logo, or executive identity to solicit funds or make political commitments, urging the public and party faithful to rely exclusively on official releases from duly constituted executive structures.
When contacted, Dr. David and Renner declined comments.
