WEDDING BELLS: Football Legend Cristiano Ronaldo Marries Longtime Partner Georgina Rodríguez in Portugal

Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has officially tied the knot with his partner of nearly a decade, Georgina Rodríguez, in an intimate ceremony held in their native Portugal.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a joint photo of their hands featuring sleek wedding rings. The announcement sparked an instant global frenzy, accumulating over three million likes within its first 30 minutes online.

According to reports from Portuguese media, the couple exchanged vows on August 11 in Cascais, a scenic coastal town situated just outside Lisbon. The private ceremony was attended by close family, including the couple’s five children.

The high-profile romance began nearly ten years ago in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci boutique while Ronaldo was spearheading Real Madrid’s attack. Their relationship blossomed over the years into a close-knit family of seven.

Together, they share two biological children, including daughter Alana Martina, born in 2017, and daughter Bella, born in April 2022—a birth tragically marked by the loss of Bella’s twin brother shortly after delivery. Rodríguez has also raised Ronaldo’s three other children as her own. The couple publicly announced their engagement in August 2025, when Rodríguez debuted her diamond ring on social media.

The nuptials mark another major milestone in a monumental period for the 41-year-old superstar. Currently residing in Riyadh following his high-profile transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, Ronaldo extended his stay with the club last year through a contract keeping him in the Saudi Pro League until 2027.

Ronaldo—who recently featured in his sixth FIFA World Cup to match Lionel Messi’s men’s appearance record—continues to chase history as he closes in on an unprecedented 1,000 career goals. His storied career across Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr, and the Portuguese national team has also cemented his financial legacy; the Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimated his net worth at $1.4 billion, making him the first footballer to achieve billionaire status.

While Ronaldo’s dominance on the pitch remains a constant narrative, his private ceremony in Cascais marks one of his most significant personal achievements yet.
