By Kingsley Emmanuel

African football has made history at the FIFA World Cup with nine of the continent’s 10 representatives qualifying for the Round of 32.

South Africa, Algeria, Cabo Verde, DR Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco and Senegal all progressed after impressive group-stage performances against some of the world’s best.

Tunisia was the only African nation to fall short, exiting at the group stage.

The result marks one of Africa’s most successful World Cup campaigns to date, with an unprecedented number of teams in the knockout phase.

Football analysts say the achievement further cements Africa’s growing reputation as a major force in international football.

As the tournament enters the knockout rounds, the nine qualified nations will be aiming to build on their momentum and push for a historic first World Cup title for the continent.
