More than 400 constituents—including artisans, youths, women, and elderly residents—have received empowerment equipment and relief items provided by Cyril Hart, the lawmaker representing the Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The distribution exercise featured a wide range of starter packs tailored to local skill sets, including welding machines, industrial weaving and hemming equipment, deep freezers, hair dryers, and commercial laundry units. In addition, medical supplies such as blood pressure testing kits alongside bags of rice were distributed to support public health and household needs.
Speaking during the event, Rep. Hart explained that the items were procured following a comprehensive needs assessment across the constituency to ensure direct socio-economic impact.
He urged beneficiaries to utilize the equipment effectively to generate sustainable livelihoods, while challenging the electorate to remain active in demanding accountability from their elected officials.
“Constituents must continuously engage their representatives to ensure that public resources directly address the genuine needs of the people,” Hart noted.
Beneficiaries across Degema and Bonny Local Government Areas commended the lawmaker for the timely intervention, assuring that the equipment would be used judiciously to build self-reliance and support local businesses.
