SUSPECTED HOODLUMS VANDALIZE NDC SECRETARIAT IN EMOHUA, DESTROY CAMPAIGN MATERIALS

By Sandra Kenneth

Suspected hoodlums have repeatedly attacked and vandalized the local secretariat of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A visit to the scene revealed significant damage to the administrative building, with party billboards, campaign banners, and structural fittings destroyed. Party officials noted that the motive behind the repeated attacks remains unclear.

Reacting to the incident, the NDC candidate for the Emohua/Ikwerre Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Fubara Ohaka, strongly condemned the destruction in an official statement.

Expressing deep sadness over the persistent targeted attacks, Ohaka warned that political rivalries must not be allowed to degenerate into violence, destruction, or intimidation.

“Political differences should never become a pretext for violence or the destruction of property,” Ohaka stated. “Despite our differing political ideologies, we remain brothers and sisters, and preserving the peace of our communities must remain our shared priority.”

The parliamentary candidate urged party members and supporters to exercise restraint, stay peaceful, and resist any provocation to take the law into their own hands.

Ohaka further called on security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into the vandalism, track down the perpetrators, and ensure that those responsible for destroying party assets are brought to justice.
