As the global community marks the International Day of Charity, the Orashi National Congress (ONC) has called for deeper, long-term commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and protecting human dignity.

In a statement issued by the organization’s President General, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, the ONC commended charity workers, non-governmental organizations, and compassionate individuals whose selfless service continues to offer hope and support to those in need.

Highlighting the significance of the observance, the group emphasized that meaningful charitable work extends far beyond temporary relief efforts.

“Every act of kindness has the power to restore hope, protect dignity, and change a life,” the statement read. “At ONC, we believe true impact goes beyond a moment of giving. It is about standing with vulnerable communities, creating opportunities, empowering people, and investing in a future where no one is left behind.”

The International Day of Charity, observed annually on September 5, serves as a global call to action to alleviate poverty, foster social inclusion, and support humanitarian efforts. The ONC reaffirmed its dedication to driving community-focused initiatives that build sustainable resilience across the region.
