The management of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has called on corporate organizations, private sector operators, and public-spirited individuals to partner with the agency to expand healthcare access across the state.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, the Executive Secretary of the social health agency, Dr. Vetty Agala, emphasized that strategic collaboration with the private sector would help scale up coverage and transform the lives of vulnerable residents.
Dr. Agala explained that the scheme was deliberately established to ensure residents can access quality medical services without paying out-of-pocket at the point of care, thereby removing financial barriers to healthcare delivery.
She highlighted that the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara has already subsidized healthcare costs for residents across designated government-owned and accredited private facilities state-wide.
Clarifying the enrollment guidelines, the Executive Secretary stated that both young and old residents are eligible to participate, provided they register for proper planning and administrative documentation. She noted that a nominal annual contribution of ₦25,000 grants beneficiaries access to the comprehensive health package.
Dr. Agala urged residents across urban and rural communities in Rivers State to take proactive steps regarding their well-being by enrolling in the scheme to secure affordable, hassle-free medical care.
