The Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Eugene Chita Epelle, has ordered the immediate suspension of all political gatherings and activities across the council pending further notice.
In a statement issued by the council, the directive follows security reports indicating that political meetings at this time could threaten peace, public safety, and security within Ahoada West.The chairman urged political groups, stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth organizations, and residents to cooperate with security agencies and the local government to maintain law and order.
According to the statement, the temporary restriction will remain in force until the local government officially announces its lifting. The chairman further directed that any individual, group, or political organization intending to hold meetings, rallies, consultations, or gatherings within Ahoada West must first obtain written clearance and approval duly signed by the council chairman.
He warned that any political activity conducted without council approval would be treated as a violation of the directive and may attract sanctions in accordance with the law.Epelle appealed to residents to remain peaceful, vigilant, and supportive of efforts aimed at preserving security and stability across the area.
