Former member of the House of Representatives representing Bonny/Degema Federal Constituency, Hon. Farah Dagogo, has accused the political alliance known as the “Rainbow Coalition” of deliberately stunting the development of Rivers State, vowing to dismantle their influence in the 2027 general elections.
Dagogo, who also declared himself the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, made the assertions during a strategic stakeholder consultation meeting.
He described the coalition as a syndicate of entrenched political interests benefiting from the state’s socio-economic stagnation, claiming they remain determined to perpetuate the status quo for selfish gains.
According to him, the upcoming 2027 general elections will serve as a decisive litmus test where Rivers people will test the coalition’s true popularity and firmly reject what he characterized as “recycled failure” in favor of a progressive path toward development.
The former lawmaker also faults efforts to attribute the completion of the strategic Bodo-Bonny Road project solely to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration. He insisted that the landmark infrastructure was the cumulative result of decades of persistent advocacy, sacrifices, and contributions by past leaders and successive administrations.
Outlining his governance blueprint for Rivers State, Dagogo promised a people-centered administration anchored on comprehensive reforms in education, healthcare, security, power infrastructure, job creation, and affordable housing.
To combat youth unemployment, Dagogo pledged to constitutionally dedicate five percent of the state’s annual budget strictly to youth entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, and direct job creation, identifying young people as the primary engine for the state’s economic revitalization.
