Panic gripped Omoku community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on Tuesday after unknown gunmen shot dead the Omoku Zone OSPAC Commander, Comr. Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, alongside three women.
Eyewitnesses say the gunmen opened fire in the community, killing the commander and the women on the spot before fleeing.

ONC Condemns Killing
The President General of Orashi National Congress, ONC, Ambassador Emeni Ibe JP AP, has condemned the attack.
In a statement, Ambassador Ibe described the killings as “barbaric, senseless and unacceptable”.
He said: “We use this medium to call on the State government, Local Government and other security agencies to come in and bring the situation under control. We condole with the families.”
Ibe also noted that Omoku Town had been quiet since the incident happened onTuesday as he was personally in Omoku when the killings took place and the ensuing commotion.

Security Concerns
The killing of the OSPAC commander has raised fresh security concerns in ONELGA, with residents calling for urgent deployment of security forces to prevent further attacks.
As of the time of this report, the Rivers State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
