At least five youths are feared dead following a violent clash between farmers and herders in Mumba Community, located in the Baah-Goi Special Area of Tai Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The deadly altercation reportedly erupted after local youths staged a protest against the alleged destruction of their crops by grazing cattle. According to community residents, the situation escalated dramatically when armed herders allegedly invaded the area in response to the protests, launching an attack on the community.
Security forces have not yet issued an official statement regarding the total casualty figure or ongoing peace efforts. Meanwhile, tension remains high in the area as residents call on state authorities and security agencies to intervene immediately to restore order and prevent further bloodshed.
