The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a official statement released Wednesday and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Extending warm congratulations to citizens at home and in the diaspora, Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended the warmth, welcoming spirit, and resilience of the Nigerian people. He noted that the country’s vast human capital and rich natural resources continue to position Nigeria as a prominent leader on the African continent.
The Minister emphasized that peace and political stability are vital prerequisites for sustainable socioeconomic growth and national development. He urged citizens across all geopolitical zones to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and emulate their selfless patriotism to ensure a prosperous future.
“As we celebrate 66 years of our independence, we should always remember that there is hope for our country,” Tunji-Ojo said. “Our diversity is our strength, and our collective determination remains the foundation upon which a stronger and more prosperous nation will be built.”
