The Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Rivers State has urged residents not to be sidetracked by the recent political reconciliation between loyalists of the State Governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) alongside his political allies.
In an official press statement issued by the party Chairman Kendrick Christian, the ADP acknowledged that while political reconciliation is a standard feature of democracy, the electorate must look past superficial alignments and scrutinize what these closed-door pacts signify for the future of the state. The party emphasized that the figures currently reconciling have long operated within the same entrenched political establishment, warning that their renewed understanding should not be mistaken for progressive leadership or a fresh political direction.
“Rivers State needs more than the reconciliation of political interests; it needs a renewed commitment to the interests of its people,” the party declared.
The ADP has consequently charged the people of Rivers State to look beyond political party lines and critically evaluate the track records, policies, and promises of all political actors ahead of future elections. The party stressed that citizens must demand accountable governance, innovative leadership, and a system that prioritizes public welfare over elite political maneuvering.
Reiterating its commitment to offering an alternative path, the ADP maintained that it stands for a transformative political direction for the state, emphasizing that the realization of a better future ultimately lies in the hands of an informed and vigilant electorate.
