PSquare Family Rift Leads to Surge in Music Chart

Music stars Peter and Paul Okoye’s music has seen a surge in the Apple Chart following their public disagreement.

The defunct P-Square group has seen a remarkable resurgence on Nigeria’s Apple Music Albums Chart.

The Best of P-Square, climbed to number 100 on the Nigeria Apple Music Albums Chart, rising 87 places, according to music chart platform Album Talks HQ.

Get Squared and Game Over re-entered the chart at number 173 and number 182, respectively, according to the platform.

The  renewed interest in the group’s catalogue comes in the midst of the current public war of words between the P-Square duo-Peter and Paul, which has attracted public attention.

The  Okoye brothers’ disputes have  continued to generate reactions on social media, with fans revisiting some of their most popular works.

The duo caught the nation’s imagination  in the early 2000s and subsequently  became one of Africa’s biggest music groups,  with the release of  hits, such as ‘Bizzy Body’, ‘Do Me,’ ‘Game Over’ and ‘Alingo’.

In 2017, the group split  due to alleged financial issues,  creative control, and the role of their older brother and manager, Jude Okoye.

The twin brothers briefly  reunited in November 2021 before they went their separate ways again in 2024  to pursue solo careers, with  Peter as Mr P and Paul as Rudeboy.
