The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that two of its officers on duty were shot dead by unknown gunmen at the C4i Police Checkpoint along Obiri-Ikwerre/Aluu Airport Road.
Police Confirm Casualties
ns Officer, PPRO, SP Blessing Agabe, confirmed the incident to Exceed FM correspondent Ephraim Emmanuel.She said one of the affected officers who sustained gunshot wounds is currently receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital, while the bodies of the two late officers have been deposited in the morgue.
Investigation Underway
According to the PPRO, the Command under the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has commenced an investigation to arrest the culprits.
